Top 3 benefits of an online trainer/weight loss coach

Prior to the pandemic of 2020, many people could not fathom using an online personal trainer or fat loss coach. Their main worries were: what if I injure myself? How would it all work if you’re not there to show me what to do? 

But the pandemic has forced many people to turn to online coaching after gyms were closed and the majority turned to Corona baking to quench their anxieties (perhaps brought on by lack of exercise) and fill their free times. And we all know the rest!

Face to face trainers have had to pivot quickly and turn to online coaching. But for me, I had already been coaching remotely, so I already had all my systems in place.

The top 3 benefits of having an online trainer are:

1. Time and convenience

no need to get dressed, jump in your car, then drive around looking for a parking space. That’s already 30 – 45 mins gone before you even set foot on the gym floor. Working with an online trainer/coach means you can work out in the comfort of your own home, or wherever you choose.

2. Stress free

Scheduling a time has never been easier. You decide what works for you, without having to fit it around your trainer’s diary. And you have the flexibility to change the time at short notice, without missing out on that session as would be the case if you were working face to face with a trainer.

3. More accountability/better communication

In most cases, you would only be able to talk to your PT during your face to face sessions with them, with no access to them outside of the sessions. But having a dedicated online PT means the lines of communication are more open (through some form of messenger service). This creates a deeper relationship with you and your coach so you never feel alone.

I know I said 3 ways, but here’s another biggie which usually causes concern: 

Having a PT right next to you means they can immediately correct your form if necessary. However, as your online trainer, I can provide you with custom exercise videos and clear instructions on how to do a specific exercise. And if needed, you can always message me with your questions if you’re unsure of how to do it.  On top of that, video assessments of various exercises can be done to check your form. This means that you can record yourself performing the exercises that you’re not sure about and send them to me for feedback. My online training is more focused on body weight exercises, which means that the risk of injuries is extremely low, if at all.
